debrief

The numbers were always there. The reading wasn’t.

I’m Robert. I’ve run with a watch for over six years, and the apps that read it never told me what I wanted to know: what happened, why, and what to do next. So I built the coach that would.

Building software is my trade, fifteen-plus years of it in big tech and in startups. debrief is that trade pointed at running. The reading stands on published training science, translated for runners, and it measures every athlete against their own history rather than anyone else’s.

The writing holds to the same standard. Every number in a debrief is checked against the file it came from before the note is kept. A debrief says only what the data can back, labels its contested metrics, and stays short when a run was simply the run you meant to do.

It is not a training plan and it has no chat. It writes one note after each run, remembers what it told you last time, and stops. Suunto watches sync by themselves; Garmin and COROS runners drop the .fit file their watch recorded.

You can find me on GitHub and Strava. If you want the coach, join the waitlist.
